Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme also referred to as the Roshan Gharana Program, as a new effort to give free solar panels to Punjabi families. Characteristics of the Scheme: 

There are some characteristics of the Scheme.

For Low-income Families:

Under the plan, using up to 100 electricity units per month can receive free 550-watt solar systems. Additionally, approved solar systems are available to customers that use up to 200 units per month. 

Massive Reach Across Punjab:

100,000 solar systems will be attached across the province within a year. Initially, 52,019 consumers with low electricity usage will benefit from this program.

Transparent Selection Process:

A computerized balloting system will be used to select beneficiaries guaranteeing equity and equal chances for all candidates.
